Gillian Meijer (1957-) grew up in East Africa, the youngest daughter of British parents. Educated in Kenya and Switzerland, she has also lived in USA, The Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, United Kingdom and France. Gillian has been painting for over twenty years and is mainly self-taught. She now lives and works in south-west France, where she continues to paint passionately from her stunning wood and glass atelier on the side of a lake.

Gillian has always been fascinated by faces. She has begun fracturing her strange faces with cubistic and recently more organic fragmentations.

In France they call her work "Désordre Intime".
