Bart van Oijen participates Cowal Art Festival in Dunoon (Scotland) 08-10-2005 t/m 15-10-2005 Windowshoppers Gallery Scotland's Art Town Part of our greatly expanded arts programme for 2005 is our Windowshoppers Gallery. For ten days Dunoon will become Scotland's Art Town. with 62 shops in the centre of Dunoon displaying paintings by artists with international reputations from Scotland, Holland and South Africa. Sculptor George Wylie ARSA, hotfoot from the Royal Scottish Academy exhibition during the Edinburgh Festival, has agreed to open this innovative 'gallery' on Saturday 8th October at 2pm. George is also displaying a work. The opening will be held in the Cowalfest Arts Centre situated for 10 days in the ground floor conference room of the Argyll Hotel in the centre of Dunoon. Other arts and craft events will take place here during the festival. We are exceptionally lucky to have work by a Dutch artist with an international reputation. Bart van Oijen has exhibited widely in Holland and Belgium but this will be the first time he has shown work in the UK. He is a regular visitor to Scotland and his work is often influenced by "the roughness and silence of the Highlands". Bart says his ultimate wish is to come and live and work in Argyll together with his wife.
