Johan Kuhlmann Utrecht

Als beeldend kunstenaar en (theater-)vormgever wordt Johan Kuhlmann (Arnhem, 1952) geïnspireerd door gebouwen en ruimtes. Deze roepen bij hem associaties op die hij in zijn schilderijen, collages, objecten en ontwerpen zichtbaar maakt. De ruimte vertelt dan een verhaal. Het is kleurrijk werk uitgevoerd in uiteenlopende materialen.
In opdracht ontwerpt hij decors voor theatervoorstellingen, meubels en glas-in-lood ramen.


As an artist, Johan Kuhlmann is inspired by buildings and spaces. The buildings and constructions in his works are often colorful and combined with unusual imageries which give them stories and a beautiful surreal tone. Besides his paintings and objects, Johan also creates decors for theatre productions, furniture and stained glass windows.
