Bas Wouters (1964) is a contemporary Dutch painter. A selection of his work was on show in Tilburg, Zuiderwoude, Zaltbommel, Milan and Aberystwyth (Wales). In the long run it will be shown in an art gallery in New York.

He had his initial training at the Tilburg Art Academy and studied printmaking in Cardiff (UK) with American artist Tom Piper.
Back in his hometown in The Netherlands he started painting.

His paintings manifest themselves strongly because of a certain ‘to-the-point-ness’. The way they are painted makes them rather visually dramatic. Mostly referring to spiritual themes they all are a result of a quest of trying to find images that have an eternal meaning. And simultaneously unnerving as they refer to the inevitable transience of things. They celebrate life in all its unpredictability.
