Rock & Draw
Kameliya Markovska | (Amsterdam)
April 23, Thu, 7-9:30 pm: FUNK
Join us for a bi-weekly workshop where music meets drawing!
Each session explores a different music genre and the art styles that surround it.
In the first part of the workshop, we’ll dive into the character of the music and the visual language that comes with it.
What kind of art do you imagine when you think of jazz? Or punk? Loose improvisations, vibrant colours, or black-and-white photocopied cut-out chaos?
Kameliya will guide you with prompts to help you explore how music can influence the way you draw.
By the end of the session, you’ll leave with a piece of art you created yourself.
Got records you love? Bring them along! We’re always happy to spin something new - as long as it is within the broad understanding of the genre of the week!
In the studio, you’ll find a selection of materials to work with: paper (various sizes), charcoal, pencils and crayons. Feel free to bring your own canvas if you’d like to work on it.
Just one note: no paint for this session—let’s keep it simple and explore what lines, textures, and sound can do together.
