Arti et Amicitiae proudly presents the exhibition STARTPOINT. This selection from the annual StartPoint – prize for European art graduates comprises works of some of the most promising up-and-coming artists graduated last year from European art academies.
Recently the prize was presented simultaneously in Brno and Prague under the auspices of the Brno House of Arts.
The works in the exhibition address the issues of (natural) history, politics and cultural conditIons shaping presence and near future. Do not miss the complex video of Stephanie Rizaj, graduate of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam and winner of the main prize of StartPoint 2019.

De non-profit vereniging Arti et Amicitiae streeft ernaar de beeldende kunst in algemene zin te bevorderen en daarbij de belangen van beeldend kunstenaars te behartigen. De vereniging telt ongeveer 1400 leden: rond de 568 kunstenaars en 837 kunstlievende leden.

Arti et Amicitiae heeft door de jaren heen verschillende beroemde leden gehad, zoals de architect A.C. Bleijs en kunstenaars Jozef Israëls en August Allebé. De vereniging betrokken geweest bij de oprichting van onder andere De Vereniging tot Bevordering van Beeldende Kunsten, de Haagsche Kunstkring en Moderne Kunstkring.
activiteiten
De vereniging organiseert onder meer verschillende tentoonstellingen waarbij zowel werk van leden als niet-leden tentoongespreid wordt. Daarnaast heeft Arti een veelzijdig kunstbezit met werk van huidige en voormalige leden. De omvangrijke negentiende-eeuwse boekenverzameling van Arti is sinds 1992 ondergebracht in de bibliotheek van het Van Gogh Museum. Ook is de vereniging actief in het publiceren van kunstgerelateerde boeken, het eigen opinieblad De Nieuwe en sinds april 2004 De Artikrant.
