Mike Ottink - 'Analytic Overlay'
Tentoonstelling 18-06-2017 t/m 22-07-2017 > Rotterdam
* VHSUHF, based in Amsterdam, have been operating since 2004. Their freeform improvised music relies upon the construction, combination, and interpretation of non-standard musical-instruments. Through the generation and manipulation of inherently unstable systems, their nuanced approach to electromechanical tuning seeks to identify and explode moments of resonant serendipity within the materials and their particular situation. Their simultaneous and mutually exclusive quests – to find the beauty in the noise, and to find the noise in the beauty – occasionally cancel each other out enough to invoke a space of serene tranquility. But most of the time, it's all about the process.
