Matinee of the exhibition ''Ontheemd'' - Haagse Kunstkring
Tentoonstelling 17-11-2024 t/m 17-11-2024 > Den Haag

On 17 November, it's the matinee of the exhibition ''Ontheemd'' where some writers, musicians, and artists will be performing poems, songs, etc. at the Haagse Kunstkring , The Hague!
My poem will also be presented by Rita Muilwijk, who was inspired and has also made a poem about my artwork which is now on view during this exhibition ''Ontheemd''. So there's a chance to see and listen to some different experiences of people about this theme during these days at the Haagse Kunstkring, The Hague. I hope you will be able to attend this event and enjoy the combination of listening and looking at some creations according to the theme ''Ontheemd''!
Time flows with our longing… "In a world adrift, where humanity and nature are in disarray, many individuals seek stability and security. Due to personal circumstances, natural disasters, or the ravages of war, countless people are compelled—often in haste—to abandon everything familiar and cherished, plunging into a completely unknown and frequently inhospitable environment.
They become displaced!" Visual artist Suus Zweekhorst, serving as the curator for the exhibition "Displaced," aims to present this theme alongside other artists in the Albert Vogelzaal. Following a call to the members of the HKK, she invited eight visual artists, as well as various poets, theater makers, actors, and musicians, to share their experiences and perspectives on the subject.
This collaboration culminated in the exhibition "Displaced" and this matinee event. During the matinee—set against the poignant backdrop of the exhibition—poems, stories, and songs will be performed, including Aleppo songs by composer Kareem Roustom. The program promises to be moving, featuring contributions from Henk Mak van Dijk, Marie Anne de Rooij, Hennie Spronk, Jhanna Houweling, Gerrit Vennema, Rita Muilwijk, and Anita Poolman.
