Consume peace, sing together and drink your own song
Kunstuitleen Utrecht 2 June, 12 – 4 p.m.
12 – 12.30 pm: Opening: Interview with visual artist Anna van Suchtelen about her peace ritual Our Airs Conspire.
12.30 – 4 pm (ongoing): Consume peace: artist Anna van Suchtelen transformed the greenhouse [the Kas] in the garden of Kunstuitleen Utrecht into a meditative space for the performance of the peace ritual Our Airs Conspire. A song from 1713, composed for the Peace of Utrecht, has been engraved in magic bowls filled with water. In the Kas the music sounds, the words evaporate and the text releases in the air. Inhale the words, listen to the music and absorb the peace song in order to return home with consumed peace.
12.30 – 1.15 and 2.15 – 3 pm: Sing-along workshop in the garden of Kunstuitleen Utrecht with Andrea Hauser, singer and founder of heerlijkzingen.nl. Sing along with songs from a variety of cultures that celebrate connectedness with the other and with life itself. Her sing-along workshop is meant for the young and the elderly: you don’t need to sing well in order to join.
1.15 – 1.45 and 3 – 3.45 pm: Write your own Song Workshop and fold your song into an origami cup with Anna van Suchtelen. Drink your own song.
