The series represents one of my core beliefs: a painting needs contrast to create drama or visual tension, which translates into a narrative.
The combination of an accentuated black background and minimal color emphasis gives this belief great weight; therefore, I developed a technique that puts the theoretical method into practice almost literally.
The technique is a hybrid of drypoint etching and brushwork on a controlled surface of charcoal dust, thinned with turpentine.
Charcoal and acrylic paint are used as materials to create the contrasting narrative according to the basic principle: light and dark, knowledge versus ignorance, good versus evil.
The color element exists within a black-and-white environment, where perceived autonomy depends solely on its surroundings.
Once this framework is understood, the final step follows: the spiritual, where universal interpretation comes into play.

Love Fool - Art Exhibition
29-11-2025 t/m 22-01-2026
Love Fool is an ode to that cheesy, rebellious, and intensely felt love that has marked an entire generation. This exhibition brings together the works of Tamara Shahar, Kirilla Mihai, and Kitsch & Huis, three artists whose distinct visual languages, acrylic, watercolor, and artistic ceramic tiles intertwine to create a universe that is both delicate and vibrantly emotional.
Each piece, carefully selected, captures the magic of a love that feels naïve yet overwhelmingly powerful. It speaks of an impossible, passionate, unmistakably millennial love: born at the turn of the century, shaped by vulnerability, constant transition, and the ever-present desire to connect.
The exhibition space is wrapped in pastel tones, a visual gesture that reflects the feminine side of love one that dramatizes, heightens, and reimagines emotion in its own way. These soft colors do not dilute intensity; they frame it with sensitivity. Pastels elevate the sentimental into the sophisticated, turn fragility into strength, and transform romance into an aesthetic statement.
In Love Fool, intensity is not an excess but a language. Here, drama is embraced, nostalgia is celebrated, and vibrancy takes center stage. Each work invites the viewer to step into a world where love, in all its phases and contradictions, becomes an act of courage.

Midzomer750 - Art Exhibition
21-06-2025 t/m 19-07-2025
When the sun reaches its highest point on the longest day of the year, the Solstice Exhibition celebrates its vibrant energy through the eyes of more than 15 international artists. From painting to installation, from figurative to abstract, each artist brings a unique expression, yet all are united by the transformative light of the sun and the language of color.
This exhibition, held in the context of Midsummer 750, honors both the power of the solstice and Amsterdam's 750th anniversary, illuminating the space with works that make the sun shine, reflect, and reinvent itself.
