I studied interior design at the Minerva Academy in Groningen.
Gradually, I transitioned to painting and various (printing) techniques.

My inspiration comes from nature, signs and motifs from other cultures, and weathered walls, among other things.
Nature plays a major role in my work and life.
Paying attention to nature is essential because it is under great pressure. 

We are nature: growth and transience in an eternal cycle.

The diversity, resilience, colors, shapes, and textures continue to fascinate me.

In my paintings, I use various printing techniques, directly printing grasses and plants with acrylic ink and then processing them.
The techniques I use include cyanotype (the so-called blueprint and one of the first photographic techniques), monoprint, gelliprint, and stenciling.

By applying multiple layers, I create depth in the work.
Painters such as Klee, Tapies, and Miro have also influenced my work.

Besides my work as an artist, I have taught art at primary schools in Amsterdam through various organizations since 2004. I also organized several projects myself and created murals with children in Senegal, Belgium, Mali, and Suriname. In Vietnam, I collaborated with a colleague on a project for the Medical Committee Netherlands Vietnam with deaf children and their teachers (see school projects and resume).
I now teach art to people with aphasia for the Marline Fritzius Foundation.
