Jeannet (ジャンネット)
creates abstract mixed media collages, paintings and art prints based on the philosophy of WABI SABI:
Finding beauty' in the imperfect and incomplete.

'Wabi' stands for austerity and simplicity, the essence of things and inner spirituality. Enjoying the here and now.
'Sabi' is the beauty or serenity that comes from the passage of time. Things that become more beautiful as they age, the rust, the authenticity, the proof that nothing lasts forever and the fact that beauty is fleeting.

Her travels in Africa and Asia and encounters with indigenous tribes and peoples, their culture, nature, lifestyle, utensils and jewelry, Buddhism and spirituality are an endless source of inspiration for her work.

Sustainability and reuse of materials, such as fabrics, wood, beads, stones, paper, objects, mats and moldings are important to Jeannet. She makes her work with all kinds of materials that she partly finds or makes from things that other people no longer like or can no longer use. Jeannet gives these materials and objects a new life and thus gives her own interpretation to Wabi Sabi.

If you see the beauty in small things, you live your life very consciously.
