In the heart of the Sologne, the crossroads of three departments of Cher, Loir-et-Cher and Loiret in France, Clémont is one of those places that you fall in love. Its large network of municipal roads is an opportunity to explore on foot or bike the beautiful region of Sologne. The old half-timbered houses are a delight for the eyes. The Church of St. Stephen from the 15th century, stands majestically at the center of the village.
Clémont's origins certainly date back to the Merovingian period. In 1874, on the road to Lauroy Castle, 820 Roman pieces bearing the name of the village were found, dating approximately to AD 270.
Clémont has beautiful half-timbered houses such as the Sauvage, the Trois-Rois and the Corne du cerf.
The Place Boyer painted in this painting was once called Place Saint-Martin. It has been called Place Albert-Boyer since 1900 in recognition of Dr Albert Boyer.
