Haar thema's bevatten autobiografische elementen.
My name is Annette Vorderhake – Sikkenk, born Haarlem Holland in 1967. I graduated as Artist and Fine Arts teacher in 2010. I’ve been working as an artist and a teacher ever since at several schools in Haarlem and Amsterdam. I also work at the Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem where I give guided tours to visitors and develop educational programs for students.
In my artwork I use different technics like embroidery on several kinds of textiles. Layering off fabrics is an important part of my work. This way the work gets depth. My work contains autobiographic elements. Due to the slow process off embroidery I try to show people to stand still at everyday situations and take them not for granted.
