Krystyna Ziach, A Memory of Rain 1993, multiple, wooden box, mirror & photograph (left)
The Memory of Rain is a multiple version of a large-scale photo-sculpture made for an installation entitled A Garden of Illusion 1992-1993, which examined the relationship between sculptural form and photography and that of illusionistic space created by the use of mirrors. here a blue-tinted photograph of houses, inserted into the cut-out lid, is reflected in a mirror in the base. Effectively, the box is created by two frames joined together.
