Petra Sluijters (1974) is an Amsterdam based artist.

Her artwork combines (large) paintings with video art to create an emotional or funny experience.
Besides her personal art, Petra creates art for public spaces that inspires wonder, adds playfulness, and lifts people out of their daily routines. She uses her background in architecture and engineering to breathe new life into spaces with color, form, and video, from vibrant murals to stimulating installations that invite people to look, play, and connect.

She also works as a hypnotherapist, coach, and connector within the arts and youth sectors.
Energy, imagination, and joy are central to everything she does, art as a driver of social dynamics, curiosity, and unexpected encounters in public spaces.

In all Petra’s artworks there is an extra dimension, layer or twist. Nothing is what it seems at first. With these layers she wants to evoke an emotion that the viewer does not immediately experience at first glimpse.
