Head in the Clouds is a series of abstract paintings inspired by the shifting colors of the sky at different moments of the day, morning, afternoon, and sunset, combined with an exploration of internal landscapes. Rather than representing clouds literally, the works translate atmosphere into color, texture, and movement.
Working through layered lines, handmade patterns, and tactile surfaces, I use line as a metaphor for connection. These lines echo the pathways of thought, the network of nerves and signals in the brain that shape emotion, perception, and memory. Just as clouds constantly change form, our thoughts are in continuous motion, overlapping, diverging, and reconnecting.
Color becomes a bridge between the external and internal worlds. The hues of the sky reflect emotional states, while textures and patterns suggest the complexity of the mind—how feelings emerge, how experiences are processed, and how meaning is constructed. Each painting captures a moment where thought and atmosphere meet.
Head in the Clouds invites viewers to move between looking outward and inward, considering how the way we feel influences how we see the world around us, and how fleeting moments, both in the sky and in the mind, leave lasting impressions.

Expositie 'Harmonie in Chaos' - de Verkuno Salon. De opening is op donderdag 4 december om 16.00 uur met een muzikale performance van Lilian Dijkema. Met een speciale KOOPAVOND op donderdag 18 december van 17 - 21 uur met gratis entree en 20% aankoopkorting! Beide Kerstdagen en Oud- en Nieuwjaarsdag gesloten. Deze expositie wordt georganiseerd door Verkuno.
