The inspiration for this shape came about, because I wanted to show 2 structures in this stone. In the polished part you can see the layers and crystals in the stone. Due to the hardness of this stone, the shapes must remain very simple. As a result, this sculpture has acquired a more abstract form. The symbolism in this sculpture represents an eye or slit or passage to another reality. Design and inspiration work together in the sculpture. Both arose during the making process. The slow process is inherent to the material.
