Lydia van der Meer has been a photographer for more than 30 years, after graduating from the Royal Academy of Art, Den Haag, the Netherlands in 1986. She worked for more than a decade in London as a press photographer and picture editor for the Financial Times newspaper. During that time she photographed some of the world's most famous people, including Margaret Thatcher, Tony Blair, Dalai Lama, Benazir Bhutto and Stevie Wonder. Her work has been exhibited at solo and joint exhibitions in London. She has now turned her photographer's eye to painting.
