Presenting ourselves as a duo for a week, with the recycling of old, (un)known or failed paintings. Two painters, two worlds. One (?) similarity: re-use and the tendency to create new points of view. A 7-days painting project by Shimon Kamada (1997, Japan) and Cis Bakker (1959, NL).

Although arising from totally different times and Zeitgeist, the two painters both have a predilection for the surreal, the reality with a twist. Curious for the outcome and above all the proces of re-use and reinterpretation, they will engage in a conversation
on the painting process.
Detaching, being stuck, turning back, omitting and emphasizing; to name a few aspects.
And, it is mainly on the existence of creative freedom.

De titel dekt de lading. Een beknopte tentoonstelling van een aantal digitale collages en oudere analoge collages van
en op papier uit de voorraadkamer van beeldend kunstenares Cis Bakker. De expositie belicht de diversiteit in enkele voorbeelden uit ruim veertig werkzame jaren.

The Body Language

ITSLIQUID Group, in collaboration with Venice Events, is pleased to announce the opening of THE BODY LANGUAGE 2022, an international exhibition of photography, painting, video art, installation/sculpture, and performance art, that will be held in Venice, at THE ROOM Contemporary Art Space from January 27 to February 18, 2022, and at ITSLIQUID ART SPACE – Venice Grand Canal from January 28 to February 18, 2022.

THE BODY LANGUAGE analyzes the hidden parts of our identities, through an immersive experience inside the fascinating universe of the complex labyrinths of our consciousness.
The human body is a changing system that connects us with other bodies and spaces to perceive the surrounding reality, a strong communication system with its own language and infinite ways of expression. We invite artists to explore the connection between desires, needs, fears through rituals that bring humankind to change, to transform, and to evolve their inner world.

My contribution to this exhibition are 3 digital collages on dibond from my series Druppelportretten, that can be seen at the second venue :
