The exhibition takes place at the last medieval flight tower ( stins in Frisian ) which is left from the time of the Fryske Frijheid. Some of the paintings depict the history of the noblemen Ats Bonnega and Jelmer Sytzama, who had to leave their stins by siege in 1494. The archaeological excavation in 2021 was a grateful source of inspiration for me!
