Note: Hanging wall sculpture in high relief. In this sculpture I wanted to realize 4 different structures to create contrasts and to create depth - one part the rough stone, one part polished - the petals. Part decorated with speckles - the heart. Part chopped with a marble pointed chisel - the stem and edge around the flower. And finally for a nice contrast in a polished top - the tear lines carved into it with a stone pin. There are naturally many layers and lines in this champagne alabaster. It is a relief and hanging statue. Contrasts and depth are created by the shapes and structures: alternately concave and convex, with lines and surfaces and large shapes, both graceful and solid. The inspiration for creating these shapes and motifs came from the leaves and flowers from my garden, but the stone itself remained the reason. The sculpture was already in the stone. The forms are figurative and abstract at the same time. In this image there is a symbolism to life itself, which is never unambiguous, but has many layers and dimensions. Design and inspiration work together in the image. Both arose during the making process. The slow process is inherent to the material and the creation process. This statue has been hollowed out on the back to make it less heavy on the wall.
