'On the wrong side' (2015) Mixed media on canvas 80 x 120 cm
The painting was inspired by a gangway of the old 'Pennsylvania state prison'. Bert was in his working life a teaching professor at the University of Nijmegen (at the end of the seventies and the beginning of the eighties) and the many visits with students at prisons in the Netherlands and abroad created a source of inspiration for his paintings.
